Frag Disc
The main part of the Coralok system, the Disc is useful by itself or with any of the other Coralok accessories. The Disc is designed to securely clip onto egg crate frag racks. No more worrying about strong current or rogue hermit crabs dislodging your coral frags, these hold on tight, even upside down! No need to worry though, when the time comes to remove them, they lift straight up without much effort.
The surface of the Coralok disc may look strange, but it is specifically designed for glue. The unique design provides plenty of surface area for glue as well as coral to grab onto, so your frag is strong from day one. The swirls are spaced perfectly to create a capillary action which draws the glue into the spaces in-between providing a stronger hold than can be achieved from the surface alone. The swirls also act to direct glue away from the sides and back towards the middle, a helpful feature for those of us that tend to make a mess with glue...And of course, the most important feature, this Disc is concave! The slightly concave surface means coral glue pools right in the middle where you want it, for a clean, precise mount. Because the whole disc is concave instead of just having a little dimple in the middle, this thing can hold a lot of glue should you need it to.
As the main hub of the Coralok system, this Disc is built for accessories! The threaded port on the bottom as well as the four indents on the sides allow many different accessories to attach. Currently, Maui's Reef is only making the Rock Anchor, but if you'll check out our concepts page, you'll see that we are working on many other designs to work with the Coralok Disc such as the Sand Anchor, the Coral Clip and magnetic bases!
